Wild Things begins the B-Side of this record which was written and recording during the fall and winter of 2022/2023 with the experimental inclusion of violin and many layerings of sounds crafted by Ian. The song originated from a poem written in December/January 2022 which was initially arranged into a completely different song before its rearrangement in summer of 2022.
lyrics
We have this ability to dance again
To pull water from the desert sands
Bring the music back when life was damned
And in this hope our lost ships find land
If the darkness is stubborn to your truth
I won’t judge you if you burn the world you knew
But forgive me if my winters freeze you through
When you’re ready, just come home and let this sleep find you
I will find you. I hope sleep finds you. I hope you get some sleep tonight.
Wild things, I love you with a rage
Push this forward with the force of trains
I hold your ghost with the hottest flames
Make this better, I welcome this pain. I welcome this pain.
I welcome my pain. I welcome your pain. I welcome our pain.
Why’d ya curse me, say I’m no one and nowhere?
Lost in Violins? Yea that’s all that’s there.
But forget-me-nots, I still took your dare
I was facing wars, you did not care
You did not care. You did not care
You did not care. You did not care.
What footsteps did you threaten to fare
To seas we crossed, and things we said with stares
When I give this love, know, I wasn’t scared.
With these wings I was raisin hell in these nightmares
It was nightmare. It was nightmare, I promise a nightmare.
Have a reverence no matter come what may.
I write these stories, get through darkest days.
They come to me with no name.
I face these mountains, there is nothing in the way.
There is nothing in the way, nothing in the way.
There is nothing in the way, nothing in the way.
If the darkness is stubborn to your truth
I won’t judge you if you burn the world you knew
But forgive me if my winters freeze you through
When you’re ready, just come home and let that sleep find you
I will find you. I hope sleep finds you. I hope you get some sleep tonight.
