Pyromaniacs is an up cycled poem written in 2013 that was inspired by the Stephen King Novel, "It." The attempt was to encapsulate a thought pattern as an icon or character drawn from a deck of cards symbolizing chaos, but also the cyclical nature of self destructive tendencies through the use of fire and death. The song was recorded over the fall of 2022 and the slower drums were inspired by the band Primitive Man and the drum composition on their new album "Insurmountable" 2022.
lyrics
I’m being as honest as I can be with myself,
Cursing every bit of it that comes out of my mouth
I know so well why everything seems damned
Why the skies falling and this moment’s burning down on me
Cause I burned it down yea
I just keep on hitting the snooze to all the control systems
That keep me from this burn-cruise
I’ll reach the ruins of our ancient empires, thinkin
Here we go again with trial by fire
Here we go again with our magnifiers
Here we go again, I guess we’re just settin fires
We’re just
pyromaniacs, pyromaniacs, pyromaniacs pyromaniacs, pyromaniacs
In our spare time, breaking clocks with unconscious minds
Making deals with death
Five more minutes for five more years
On the other side, we’ll have five more years of hell
Five more years of hell with you baby
Five more years of unconscious fast forwarding intoto our sudden death
Awaking from nightmares, we realize we’ve only got five minutes left
Til you’re supposed to leave me
So I’m runnin to the backs of the trains of my thoughts
That are headed off the bridges I’ve burned down
Cause I burned them down
Yea
Inflating my helium ideas like the stars that all end up as black holes
We’re just a black hole baby
We’re just
pyromaniacs, pyromaniacs, pyromaniacs pyromaniacs, pyromaniacs
We’re just
pyromaniacs, pyromaniacs, pyromaniacs pyromaniacs, pyromaniacs
We’re just
pyromaniacs
