Circle back around was recorded in separate sessions throughout the summer of 2022 and the following fall. This was the first song which featured the experimental layers of hand drums that hold consistency throughout the entirety of this project. We incorporated bongos, tambourines, shakers, maracas and other more unconventional acoustic percussive instruments.
lyrics
Don’t you hear the clocks ticking like I do?
Don’t you hear God talking? No, I don’t either.
Can’t you feel the gears working in this old machine,
Making up the chain reaction of each day? Yea
These accidents of our lives,
Here we are just breathing, here we are just feeling
Here we are just seeing.
Can you see this with me?
Can you feel this with me?
Can you breathe this me?
Can you need this with me?
I know that it’s not about needing anyone,
So I conjure up these stories til stories are all we have left,
Head off towards these sunsets and the stories end.
And here I am just burying my loved ones.
You can try to turn another leaf, set the game up by changing seats
Yea, we will watch that season turn and curse recurring patters
Behind that same belief while momentum does the rest,
Just wave your flag.
Circle back around. You’re allowed to exist here.
You’re allowed to go crazy.
Take the space you need and would you just believe me
If I told you that I wanted you to STAY
Circle back around. You’re allowed to exist here.
You’re allowed to go crazy.
Take the space you need and would you just believe me
If I told you that I wanted you to STAY
You can try to turn another leaf, set the game up by changing seats
Yea, we will watch that season turn and curse recurring patters
Behind that same belief while momentum does the rest,
Did you wave your flag?
This horse comes charging death.
This horse comes charging death and your castle’s overrun.
